Job Summary

Responsible for planning, deploying, and monitoring new software-as-a-service (SaaS) and web applications. Analyzes, tests and assists with the integration of new software. Assists with tracking performance metrics. Provides guidance and support to other Engineers. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment. May lead teams or projects and shares expertise.In the role of Development Operations engineer, you will be a technical contributor within Comcast Technology Solution's exciting new cyber security business unit, which sells SaaS and subscription security solutions to the large enterprise and federal government. You will be primarily responsible for developing the tools and procedures to safely and rapidly deploy and monitor, DataBee, a new SaaS security, risk and compliance platform that was developed internally and used inside Comcast's SOC, and is now being made available for use by the Fortune 500 CISO customer base. You will work in a high pace, collaborative engineering environment to deliver value for DataBee customers distributed across the US and India. You will lend your experience and knowledge to establish best practices and influence development and operational workflows across the department. You also will be influential in creating a startup culture for the DataBee business unit, enabling and empowering your teammates to work in an agile fashion.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

• Collaborates with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements. Conducts analysis to determine integration needs.
• Aids in the design of the DataBee platform, supports application development and customizations. Develops software update processes and assists in the roll-out of software releases.
• Oversees the researching, writing and editing of system accreditation documentation and technical requirements, including designs, audit controls, evaluation plans, test results, manuals and formal recommendations and reports.
• Keeps current with technological developments within the industry. Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products. Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
• Assists in tracking and evaluating performance metrics including platform cost.
• Works with Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements. Executes automated tests and evaluates systems, subsystems and components.
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Experience and skills:

• Experience working with GitHub and GitHub Actions
• Experience with scripting languages including Bash and Python
• Experience using platform tools including Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm
• Experience using AWS services including EKS, S3, Lambdas, SQS, Route53, and ALB
• Experience in developing and implementing continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines
• Experience deploying and monitoring SaaS products in AWS. Preferred if also experienced in deploying and monitoring SaaS products in Azure and/or GPC.
• Preferred experience in supporting multi-tenant and multi-region SaaS deployments
