Job summary

Nutanix is disrupting the multi-billion-dollar enterprise data center market by pioneering an enterprise cloud platform that leverages web-scale engineering and consumer-grade design to natively converge compute, virtualization, and storage into a resilient, software-defined solution with rich machine intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Work on next-generation enterprise performance and resiliency benchmarking software.
  • Design and implement new features and functionality, for both on-premise and as-a-service deployment models as part of a cross-functional, agile development team.
  • Work with product management, other engineers, and teams to understand requirements and build the latest capabilities.
  • Build industry knowledge and experience within public/private cloud, HCI, storage, hypervisors, and networking domains.
  • Provide excellent support for the product by engaging with customers, partners, and support.
  • Work on various web, backend technologies, automated tests and CI/CD.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent with 2 - 4 years of experience
  • Proficiency in Python programming, particularly in the areas around web technologies and frameworks (Django / REST APIs)
  • Strong hands-on experience in building backend applications using
  • Strong experience in designing, querying, and optimizing PostgreSQL databases, proficient in schema design, normalization, and indexing strategies
  • Knowledge of JavaScript; proficiency in JavaScript and experience with one or more JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Backbone
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS, understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and experience with preprocessors like LESS or SASS
  • Proficient in designing and implementing GraphQL APIs including queries, mutations, and subscriptions
  • Responsive Design; experience in creating responsive designs that adapt across different devices and screen sizes
  • Proficiency in container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with virtualized infrastructure (Nutanix AHV, VMware vSphere, KVM)
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure (storage, networking, compute)
  • Prior experience in building high-performance and secure APIs; full stack engineering including frontend, backend, databases, network, and DevOps
  • Love of programming with the demonstrated ability and passion to solve complex problems within an Agile development team
