- Edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience
- Take a brief to grasp production team's needs and specifications
- Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
- Input music, dialogues, graphics, texts and effects
- Create rough and final cuts
- Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running
- Make creative outputs out of unscripted footage
- Understanding Client, Management & Director briefs, offering creative feedback and providing an estimated filming budget
- Discussing ideas with the Creative team prior to filming and be a part of the planning and creative visualisation of Video outputs
- Coordinating and assisting Wedding Videographers and small production houses in filming bridal shoots, promotional campaigns videos, wedding videos, etc.
- Contacting and negotiating with suppliers for equipment, products and services
- Troubleshooting minor technical issues
- Ensuring consistency in storyline
- Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry's best practices to maximize efficiency.
- Compiling training videos that juniors could refer
- Proven work experience as a Video Editor
- Degree or diploma in any subject
- A certificate course in Video Editing is preferred
- Proficiency in video editing software like Adobe Creative Suite, Lumen5, Final Cut Pro, Nero Video, Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects and Final Cut
- Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing
- Creative mind and storytelling skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of different motion picture techniques
- Physically fit and having an eye for detail
- Basic knowledge of production modes like doing a single camera setup and adjusting camera's white balance
- Ability to work in a team and in extreme weather conditions
- Excellent analytical skills
