    Job Role: Sr. Design Engineer- Design for Assembly & Manufacturing (Mechanical)

    Location: Thane (work from the office)

    Who are we looking for:

    • Seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in the Product Design team for design and development of electro-mechanical products for the Defense, Industrial, Commercial markets

    Top 3 Daily Tasks:

    1. NPI (New Product Introduction):

    • Work closely with engineering, research, marketing and leadership to +formulate new products.
    • Own the engineering of products from concept through mass production and collaborate to develop product and technical requirements.
    • Collaborate with the stakeholders and suppliers to identify and eliminate the risks, validate designs and prepare them for the mass production.
    • Lead design reviews and contribute to FMEA, test plans, and test procedures.

    2. VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering):

    • Evaluate all aspects of products' design, manufacturing processes, and supplier for cost reduction opportunities.
    • Prioritise initiatives and guide them through design, engineering, RFQ, validation, and implementation to mass production.

    3. CI (Continuous Improvement):

    • Review and verify Root-Cause-Analysis for product quality problems, working closely with Quality and Operations teams.
    • Review existing product designs, identify weaknesses, propose, implement, and monitor the effectiveness of improvements.
    • Contribute to the review/audit of manufacturing processes and quality systems at suppliers.

    Minimum work experience is required:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
    • 5-8 years of proven experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing environment with a focus on high-volume electronic consumer products
    • Experiences in consumer electronics and wearable devices will be an added advantage

    Skills you should possess:

    • Must possess the skills of Industrial Designer who can bring out several concepts to ideation via sketches and produce the same in the CAD form
    • Solidworks – high proficiency with surfacing, top-down modelling, simulation, assemblies, and 2D drafting
    • Strong understanding of materials and high-volume manufacturing methods such as Injection Molding
    • High cavitation injection moulding, sheet metal forming, and machining process experience
    • Experience working on metal and plastic manufacturing processes, including molding, stamping, die casting, CNC machining, welding, glue dispensing, pad/silk screen, painting, surface finishing, and assembly
    • Deep knowledge of materials, processes, assembly, electronics, and production methods
    • Proven track record of executing creative, complex mechanical design problems and successfully building physical prototypes
    • Extensive experience collaborating with suppliers through DFM, including optimising mould designs and utilising mould flow analysis
    • Working experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack analysis
    • High level of maturity, ownership, and pride in your work

    Preferred Skills:

    • Familiarity with simulation and analysis tools for stress, thermal, and tolerance analysis
    • Ability to deftly and rapidly create proof-of-concept and cosmetic prototypes using a mix of outsourced and in-house fabrication methods
