    Description

    Honeywell Automation India Limited (HAIL) is a ~$350 million+ multinational company listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE). It has is registered office in Hadapsar, Pune. HAIL is a leader in providing integrated automation and software solutions, including process solutions and building solutions.

    Building Automation (BA) is a strategic business unit within HAIL. Under BA, HBS installs maintains the systems to help keep buildings and facilities safe, secure, comfortable and cost-efficient, and is a leading providing of energy efficiency solutions worldwide. HBS specializes in the installation and servicing of critical building systems, including HVAC, building automation, fire, security and energy management.

    We are currently looking for a Lead Attorney for supporting HBT - HBS India, reporting to General Counsel (HBT, India). This position will be primarily responsible for negotiating Govt. RFP's, customer contracts and disputes & litigation (customer/ vendor/employment) management that may crop up from time to time. The position will be based in Bangalore, Karnataka.

    Position Purpose

    To provide leadership, direction and consultation to the HBT, HBS India Install and Service LOB business teams for customer contract review / negotiation, dispute resolution, handling legal notices and driving consistent policies and processes in support of business objectives and contributing to the organization's achievement of goals, while satisfying its customers.

    Key Tasks

    · Provide counsel and day-to-day support to BA procurement function (for India) on all aspects of direct procurement, including vendor(s) contract review, redlining, negotiation and finalization.

    · Ensure B2B terms are flowed down from large / high risk customer contracts (including Govt. RFP's) to subcontractors' contracts.

    · Establish subcontract templates for India, while ensuring compliance to local laws and keeping into consideration local practices, with a view to safeguard Honeywell's interests.

    · Drive LEAP (online contract review tool and repository) compliance with procurement.

    · Exposure of handling disputes with vendors, foresee issues and provide guidance to procurement for timely resolution of disputes.

    · Conversant at handling local laws and regulatory compliances requirements, including MSME compliances, and devising suitable risk mitigation strategies

    General Accountabilities

    · Ensure implementation of and adherence to sound contract management and risk assessment policies

    · Negotiate difficult and complex contractual issues

    · Draft, analyze, interpret, and develop contract terms and conditions

    · Ability to multi-task on a large number of complex contract issues

    · Ability to deploy and gain acceptance of new approaches and objectives

    · Oversee, advise and support change order negotiations

    · Deploy training on terms and conditions, corporate policies and risk mitigation

    · Advise and assist management team in opportunity/risk assessment

    Basic Qualifications

    · LLB from a reputed law school in India

    · 10 – 12 years of PQE in contract negotiation

    · Subject matter expertise in contract review and risk management

    · Team player, seasoned self-driven, excellent interpersonal communication skills

    · Analytical and problem-solving skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    · Ability to work within the hierarchy and matrix of a multi-national company

    · Understanding of financial concepts (cash flow, ROI, working capital) and impact of contract terms on such concepts

    · Ability to deal confidently with internal and external customers at all organizational levels

    · Think strategically, critically and analyze details for achieving program objectives

    · Think on multiple levels while gathering, analyzing and synthesizing globally relevant data

    · Identify and implement process improvements

    · Create or embrace a vision and inspire others to meet organizational goals

    · Encourage intelligent risk taking
