About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Officer to join our team in GIFT City, Gandhinagar. The Principal Officer will play a pivotal role in supporting fund management operations, regulatory liaison, investor engagement, and transaction execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fund management, research, trading, fund administration, and compliance.
Role Requirements :
The Principal Officer is expected to:
- Conduct in-depth data analysis to derive actionable insights that support investment decision-making.
- Design and maintain proprietary investment models, screeners, and dashboards for tracking market trends and opportunities.
- Collaborate with the investment team to support fund management activities, including portfolio analysis and optimization
- Execute investment transactions and coordinate with counterparties, such as custodians, fund administrators, and trustees
- Act as a key liaison with IFSCA regulators to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Build and nurture relationships with investors, assisting in client onboarding and addressing investor queries effectively
This role offers significant exposure to a broad range of asset classes, including equities, fixed income, alternatives (at a later stage), and thematic investments, making it a comprehensive learning and growth opportunity.
Key Responsibility:
Research and Analytics:
- Provide actionable market insights through detailed research and analytics.
- Develop proprietary tools and dashboards to track and analyze investment opportunities.
- Create research reports, white papers, and presentations that reflect deep market insights and trends
- Provide inputs to fund management strategies and enhance portfolio performance
Transaction Execution:
- Oversee the execution of transactions and investments, coordinating with various counterparties.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness in dealing with custodians, fund administrators, and trustees.
Regulatory Liaison:
- Represent the company with IFSCA and other regulators.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and manage timely reporting.
Investor Relations:
- Facilitate smooth client onboarding and maintain strong investor relationships.
- Address investor queries and provide updates on fund performance and strategies.
Operational Oversight:
- Monitor fund administration tasks such as NAV computation and reporting.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure seamless operational workflows.
Required Skills:
- Understanding of Indian financial markets, including equities, fixed income, and alternatives.
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in financial modeling and market analysis.
- Solid understanding of fund management, trading, and investment execution.
- Knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks within GIFT City.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills for liaising with investors and regulators.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating reports and presentations.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, engineering (preferred), Economics.
- Master's degree (MBA/PGDM) in Finance or CA/CFA/CAIA certification will be an advantage.
Work Experience:
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in fund management, research, trading, fund administration, or compliance.
- Prior experience interacting with regulators and managing compliance-related tasks is essential.
- Proven track record in investor relations and transaction execution is preferred.
