- Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure that heavy equipment meets performance standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
- Materials Selection and Testing: Evaluate materials for use in heavy equipment manufacturing, considering factors such as strength, durability, and cost. Conduct material testing and analysis to ensure suitability for intended applications.
- Production Planning and Scheduling: Work with production planners to develop schedules, allocate resources, and coordinate production activities to meet deadlines and production targets.
- Supplier Management: Collaborate with suppliers to source components and materials for heavy equipment manufacturing. Evaluate supplier performance and implement strategies to improve quality, cost, and delivery reliability.
- Prototype Testing and Validation: Oversee prototype testing and validation activities to ensure that designs meet performance and safety requirements. Analyze test data and feedback to make design improvements as needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and innovation in heavy equipment manufacturing. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reliability, and competitiveness.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements governing the design, manufacture, and operation of heavy equipment.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to production teams, resolving manufacturing issues, and implementing solutions to improve product quality and efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant professional certifications may be preferred.
- Proven experience in heavy equipment manufacturing or a related industry, with a strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for product design and manufacturing process optimization.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and coordinate cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of quality management systems, lean manufacturing principles, and regulatory requirements applicable to heavy equipment manufacturing.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, designers, technicians, and production personnel.
