Logistics Sales Executive
This role is responsible for directing sales efforts to expand our customer base. This role will be responsible for generating new business and ensuring that sales targets are met or exceeded across all lines of business. This individual should be a motivated customer sales representative with experience and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing a plan to achieve sales target
Responsible for carrying out prospecting calls
Responsible for establishing and managing relationships with customers in need of the firms freight transportation services
Maintain consistently positive interactions to nurture customer relationships
Take ownership of customer issues and follow-through till resolution
Represent the firm in negotiating and building relationship with shippers and carriers
Responsible for aiding successful pick-up and delivering, and over the road assistance while customers freight moves across .
Perform Cold-calling and work to build a book of businesses.
Grow revenue and relationships with New & existing customer base.
Generate leads through cold calling, physical visits,networking and referrals.
Utilize inside sales knowledge.
Quote formal and spot bids.
Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction- maintain close contact with all customers including follow up on concerns or other issues.
Communicate effectively with customers, shippers, and receivers regarding changes in pick-up/delivery and potential service failures.
Communicate customer problems to management.
Exceed all standards for prospecting calls, presentations, proposals and closes.
Provide documented activity reports of your sales efforts on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Execute and monitor strategic and tactical goals to maximize sales, profit and to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded.
Secondary:
Negotiate contracts and rate agreements.
Support carrier reps with the coordination of transportation freight in a cost-effective manner.
Document issues with orders thoroughly.
Track/trace shipments when requested.
Experience:
2-3 years of domestic Logistics experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Superior phone etiquette.
Intermediate computer skills (Excel, Word).
Excellent interpersonal skills.
This position offers a competitive base salary plus commission
