Job Summary

As a highly skilled Project Expediter Professional at Bechtel Corporation, you will report directly to and receive operational direction from the project Expediting Supervisor. Your functional guidance will come from the Expediting Manager. You will be responsible for coordinating with project and project procurement management, engineering, construction, startup, planning, and scheduling, area expediting, and other procurement personnel assigned to the project team.

You will maintain contact with suppliers to monitor the progress of material and equipment orders. Additionally, you will coordinate with area expediting personnel assigned to perform project visits.

Main Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely submission of engineering data and follow-up on material acquisition, production progress, and shipment.
• Evaluate production schedules and progress reports from suppliers to determine if their programs and work progress meet job site requirements.
• Analyze data to prepare critical items reports or other supplementary reports as required, coordinating the accumulation of data from project expediters and issuing reports for the expediting group.
• Collaborate with planning and scheduling, field material coordinators, or jobsite project expeditors and construction teams to establish priorities, sequences, and required delivery dates, instructing suppliers accordingly.
• Facilitate Bechtel engineering for the timely review, approval, and return of engineering data submitted by suppliers.
• Represent the expediting department at project team meetings.
• Maintain a comprehensive working file of expediting-related documents and memoranda of conversations to record expediting activities, ensuring prompt follow-up actions when necessary.
• Provide essential information for area expediting assignments for prime and suborders as needed.
• Monitor outstanding area expediting assignments, review expediting reports, and take corrective action on problems identified in the reports.
• Obtain copies of supplier's orders for material, perform sub-supplier expediting when necessary, and work closely with supplier quality representatives to ensure awareness of materials subject to quality performance and their locations of manufacture.
• Participate in pre- and post-award meetings to review and discuss schedules and potential problem areas that may impact required shipment dates.
• Coordinate shipping arrangements or tracking requests with the project Logistics representative.
• Verify material receiving reports against shipping documents to ensure accurate receipt of material at the job site, assisting in tracing missing material when necessary.
