Transmission and Distribution Engineering Manager

We are seeking a skilled Transmission and Distribution Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Phases:
Conceptual Study: Conduct initial assessments and develop conceptual designs for transmission, distribution, HVAC/DC systems, substations and Grid Connections.
Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility Studies: Perform detailed analyses to evaluate project viability, including technical, economic, and environmental aspects.
Front-End Engineering Design (FEED): Develop detailed engineering designs and specifications for project execution.
EPC Selection: Participate in the selection process for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractors, ensuring compliance with Indonesian regulations
Installation and Commissioning: Oversee the installation and commissioning of systems, ensuring adherence to project plans and regulatory standards
Operation and Maintenance (O&M): Develop and implement O&M strategies to ensure the reliability and efficiency of systems.
Collaborate with other engineering teams (civil, mechanical, controls) to ensure electrical systems are optimized and aligned with project goals.

Transmission and Distribution (T&D):

Design and develop electrical transmission and distribution systems.
Conduct site inspections and feasibility studies for new projects.
Oversee the installation and maintenance of transmission and distribution equipment.
Ensure compliance with Indonesian industry standards and safety regulations.
Analyze system performance and implement improvements.
Collaborate with other engineers, contractors, and stakeholders.
Prepare technical reports and documentation.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for operational issues.

HVAC/DC Systems:

Design and optimize HVAC/DC systems (Overhead and Subsea cabling), focusing on energy efficiency, voltage selection and performance.
Ensure compliance with Indonesian and Singapore standards and regulatory requirements.
Oversee the installation and maintenance of HVAC/DC equipment.

Substation Management:

Design and develop substation infrastructure, including transformers and control rooms.
Oversee the construction and upgrade of substations, ensuring compliance with environmental and social management frameworks.
Conduct site inspections and feasibility studies for new substation projects.
Ensure compliance with Indonesian and Singapore regulations and safety standards.
Prepare technical reports and documentation related to substation projects.

Grid Connection and Optimization:

Design and analyze grid connection points, ensuring compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
Perform technical assessments and feasibility studies for new grid connections, including load analysis, voltage regulation, and fault level assessment.
Develop and implement connection schemes for clean/renewable energy projects, energy storage systems, and industrial facilities.
Coordinate the installation and commissioning of grid connection infrastructure (national / captive grid).

Qualifications:

Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Major in Transmission and Distribution or Power Systems) or related field.
Professional Engineering License (PE) or similar certification preferred.
Certifications in power systems, renewable energy, or grid operations are a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in transmission and distribution engineering.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power generation, and grid infrastructure.
Proficiency in CAD software and electrical design tools.
Proven experience with grid codes (Indonesia and Singapore), interconnection standards, and regulations (e.g., IEEE, IEC, local utility codes).
Familiarity with power system analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, PSCAD) is plus.
Hands-on experience with SCADA systems, EMS (Energy Management Systems), and communication protocols for grid operations (e.g., IEC 61850).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with GIS (Geographic Information Systems).
Knowledge of renewable energy integration.
Familiarity with SCADA systems, EMS, PMS, hybrid controller and automation.
Understanding of Indonesian and Singapore regulations related to energy and electrical systems.
In-depth understanding of the latest grid optimization technologies, smart grid solutions, and energy storage integration.
Strong understanding of power system stability, grid dynamics, and renewable energy integration.
Experience in optimization techniques (e.g., voltage control, power flow analysis, dynamic stability).
Strong understanding of power system dynamics, protection schemes, and fault analysis.
In-depth knowledge of electrical equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, and relays.
Ability to conduct load flow studies, fault analysis, and network reliability assessments.
Knowledge of power electronics, transformers, substations, and protection schemes.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Familiarity with Indonesian and Singapore grid code / operation requirements

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year
