    Job Purpose:
    To play an important role in the development of the Buying & Merchandising strategy and to ensure that this strategy is implemented for the relevant category or categories


    Job Dimensions:

    • Within framework of company policy, concept strategy and annual budgets agreed with Head & Managing Director
    • Drives the Commercial Strategy (Concept and Implementation)
    • Is the Custodian of the Metro Cash & Carry Brand within the country and is responsible for external and internal communication

    Critical outcomes for this role:

    • Focus on Monthly Sales Targets with proper planning and availability as well as Income for category.
    • Managing category P & L.
    • To accurately phase sales, stock, margin, markdown and intake plans and projections considering prevailing market trends.
    • Develop and Build assortments in line with customer profile.
    • To develop new suppliers and maintain genuine, sustainable partnerships with the existing ones.
    • Develop Regional brands in line with market share as per the respective cities.
    • Reviewing brand/supplier performance and profitability
    • Manage inventory, availability for KVIs and focused articles, ensuring DOH norms.
    • Collaborate with Store teams to implement HO strategies.
    • Regional Budget alignments i.e., BTL budgets for stores.
    • Regional supplier development and assortment planning.
    • Offer Planning and Execution.

    What background will make you successful? :

    • 15+ years post qualification experience in the Category management Field, having at least 7+ years of experience in relevant category.
    • Result Oriented, Good Commercial acumen
    • Selfdisciplined with ability to work independently and under stress
    • Excellent communication Skills
    • Strong Analytical Ability
    • Knowledge of Pricing, Margins and Supply Chain Strategy of FMCG sector in the country
    • Ability to build and maintain effective crossfunctional working relationships at all levels
    • Educational Qualifications:
    • Master's degree in Management
