    Landis+Gyr's Global Technology Office is looking for a Sr. Manager – R&D, Software Development and Product Delivery to support the development of Landis+Gyr's New Energy solutions. This role is within the Technology and Innovation team consisting of Subject matter experts, software developers, R&D Engineers and Product Owners. You will lead a team 15-20 engineers and product owners to develop and delivered cutting edge software solutions. Software Development Manager responsibilities will encompass full SW lifecycle activities for large-scale software systems in support of Landis+Gyr's New Energy solutions.

    In this role, you will play a major role in setting the product direction, and leading effort in developing scalable solution for Landis+Gyr's new Electric Vehicles and Energy Management software solutions.     Key Responsibilites of the role :

    • Responsible for management of full Software Development lifecycle activities for product area(s) including design, code, unit and string testing of features/fixes, development of SW CDRLs, integration and test support for their product area, as well as site issue support.
    • Lead a team to build and rollout systems to multiple global regions.
    • Create processes that can be leveraged to help drive efficiencies and quality
    • Work closely with our internal customers to enable their goals and meet their demands
    • Work on new designs/solutions, bringing them from concept to launch and operations
    • Cost estimating, workload and manpower planning, including authoring Basis of Estimates (BOEs), in support of team's current and future business needs on the program (e.g. proposals and task order preparation).
    • Cost, schedule, and resource management, as well as oversight for technical aspects of the SW product team(s).
    • Develop and conduct interim and yearly performance reviews for the department personnel; award programs and other employee personnel activities.
    • Be a subject matter expert in a product domain
    • Lead teams that deliver on multiple projects of increasing dependencies in an ambiguous or high-impact area

    What are we looking at (Desired Qualification) :

    • Requires a minimum B.Tech / M.Tech degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, EEE with a minimum of 15 + years of prior relevant experience, Master's degree preferred. Generally, has 8+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.

    • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification
    • Experience partnering with product or program management teams
    • Demonstrated understanding of full software development life cycle as well as proven experience with supporting highly critical customer missions.
    • Understanding of SW configuration management tools and change tracking.
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to demonstrate a commitment to personal and corporate excellence, ethical behavior and integrity.
    • Cost accounting / earned value management / ownership
    • Planning and cost estimating experience
    • Experience with execution under Waterfall and/or Agile development methodology

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Experience in working with DER Management, DERMS, Energy Management, Clean Energy, EV charging, Grid Management software and solutions.
    • Have worked with utility industry solutions providers.
    • Self-starter and able to set the direction for self and others when uncertainty exists
    • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
    • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers.
