Education: Any Graduate / Master s Degree (MBA in Marketing preferred)
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Area Manager who understands the general insurance business inside out and can drive growth in the assigned territory. This role is not just about achieving numbers it s about building a strong distribution network, leading a team effectively, and identifying new opportunities in a competitive market.
The ideal candidate should have a solid background in the GI industry and experience handling a sales team while managing channel partners, brokers, and corporate clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute effective sales strategies to expand business in the assigned area.
- Identify new markets, customer segments, and distribution channels to increase revenue.
- Lead, guide, and monitor a team of sales executives and agents to ensure target achievement.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to improve team productivity.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to create actionable plans.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, dealerships, corporate clients, and other partners.
- Track and monitor key performance indicators such as sales volume, policy retention, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure all sales activities comply with regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
- Coordinate with underwriting, claims, marketing, and customer service teams to enhance customer experience.
- Recruit, onboard, and train new insurance agents to strengthen the distribution network.
- Prepare and present periodic sales performance reports to senior management.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes impacting the general insurance sector.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of general insurance products, distribution models, and customer segments.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing and motivating sales teams.
- Strong sales orientation with a consistent track record of achieving or exceeding targets.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive performance improvements.
- Hands-on experience with sales tracking tools and performance monitoring systems.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
