Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced CMDB Lead to take complete ownership of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) for our client environment. The ideal candidate will lead CMDB governance, design, lifecycle management, and data quality initiatives while ensuring alignment with ITSM processes and business objectives.
This role requires strong stakeholder management, governance mindset, and hands-on expertise in CMDB configuration and optimization.
Key Responsibilities1. CMDB Governance
- Develop, implement, and enforce CMDB policies, standards, and procedures.
- Define and maintain CMDB scope, including identification and reconciliation of critical Configuration Items (CIs).
- Establish and monitor CMDB performance metrics aligned with SLAs and KPIs.
- Lead stakeholder discussions (internal and external).
- Provide resolutions for conflicts, governance challenges, and data discrepancies.
2. CMDB Design & Implementation
- Define CMDB requirements, structure, and architecture.
- Configure and customize CMDB modules as per business requirements.
- Maintain CI relationships, hierarchies, and attribute models.
- Ensure CMDB design aligns with ITIL best practices and organizational standards.
3. CI Lifecycle Management
- Manage CI identification, reconciliation, classification, and labeling.
- Coordinate CI registration, verification, and documentation processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely updates for CI additions, modifications, and retirements.
- Maintain end-to-end CI lifecycle integrity.
4. Data Integrity & Quality Management
- Implement and enforce data quality controls and validation mechanisms.
- Conduct regular audits and resolve data inconsistencies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to improve CMDB data accuracy and completeness.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for CMDB health.
5. Change & Release Integration
- Align CMDB processes with Change and Release Management frameworks.
- Facilitate impact analysis during change implementation.
- Support CAB meetings with accurate configuration insights.
6. Reporting & Analysis
- Develop custom reports and dashboards for leadership and operational teams.
- Perform trend analysis and provide actionable insights.
- Track CMDB KPIs and governance maturity metrics.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 6–8+ years of experience in CMDB / Configuration Management.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL framework and ITSM processes.
- Hands-on experience with CMDB configuration and CI modeling.
- Experience managing CI relationships and reconciliation rules.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience in data governance, audits, and quality management.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage escalations.
Preferred Qualifications
- ITIL Certification.
- Experience with enterprise ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow CMDB).
- Experience working in large enterprise environments.
Job Type: Contractual / Temporary
Pay: ₹1,500, ₹2,000,000.00 per year
