    Movie Ticketing Business Leader

    Our teams strive to make Amazon the most rewarding and convenient place to book Entertainment (Movie Tickets). Amongst the handful players to offer entire selection of cinemas - including PVR-INOX, we launched movie bookings in May 2019 – a globally unique offering at Amazon in partnership with leading vertical specialist BookMyShow. The partnership gave us access to deep integrations with cinemas allowing us to create integrated end-to-end booking experience on Amazon.

    We raise bar in selection, pricing and customer service jointly with our partner. In the long term, we believe India is seeing a mass increase in discretionary spends and ever increasing number of customers are engaging in entertainment; the intersection of Movie Tickets with payments & Prime offers us a unique opportunity to serve our customers with innovative solutions.

    Job Summary:

    This role will lead the business growth for Movie ticketing on Amazon; defining and owning short and long-term business outcomes.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Develop short and long-term goals for business growth and own the P&L
    • Develop and lead weekly, monthly, and annual business reviews
    • Establish and lead implementation of category learnings, insights, and business strategies
    • Manage and own promotional strategy and planning across all channels, post-analysis reporting
    • Partner with other Amazon teams such as Pay, Categories, and Prime to identify and execute opportunities
    • Identify new approaches for growing the business, driving initiatives to increase category awareness, and creating processes to better manage the performance of the category over the long term
    • Partner effectively with marketing teams to drive adoption of new business features and use cases
    • Develop fact-based, quantitative analysis of consumer and competitive trends, with actionable insights and recommendations

    About You:

    • You have strong experience establishing and growing categories
    • You have experience working with senior internal and external business, marketing, and customer service leaders
    • You are strong with numbers and analysis
    • You develop a broad understanding of movies and entertainment business to emerge as a subject matter expert for this business at Amazon
    • You see around corners, are biased for action in ensuring the team is set up for success in achieving our goals, and earn trust through broad stakeholder influence

    Requirements:

    • Experience in owning end-to-end P&L of online businesses
    • Strong understanding on all levers of online business including pricing, selection, convenience, and awareness
    • Strong analytical ability to digest customer data, customer anecdotes, and industry trends into actionable roadmap leading to stronger business results
    • Influence and earn the trust of senior stakeholders and move business teams to take action
    • Obsess over customer needs to identify opportunity areas of creating unique offerings
    • Exceptionally strong communicator and analytic thinker with a history of delivering results
    • Strong sense of urgency and commitment
    • A people's person comfortable working across teams and levels, internally and externally
    • Comfortable working independently with a wide range of responsibilities
    • Thriving on solving challenging problems in ambiguous environments
