    Company Description

    Sarron is a soon-to-launch online women's handcrafted clothing brand. We specialize in handcrafted, flowy, and timeless contemporary wear made from 100% natural fibers. Our design focus is on comfort and minimalism. All our clothes will be handcrafted by artisans in rural areas of West Bengal.

    Opportunity

    We are looking for a talented and experienced designer to help us with one of our next collections. This will be a short freelance project-based role, with an opportunity for regular work in the future. We are looking for a designer for:

    • Design Development - Create amazing designs with unique patterns based on our existing vision for the collection and the brand (this collection will involve contemporary dresses and co-ords, fabrics to be used have already been shortlisted)
    • Manufacturing Visit - Understand capabilities of our manufacturing setup, located a few hours away from Kolkata, for inspiration and constraints
    • Final Garment Sampling - Work with masters, tailors to execute and develop samples based on approved designs (you may be able to leverage our manufacturing unit for stitching purposes, but connects with master pattern makers will be very useful)

    Note: Garment samples are the key final deliverables for this project

    You will get an opportunity to work on a unique project from start to finish with an emerging truly Indian brand. If we like working with each other, this could turn into a longer term collaboration.

    Qualifications

    The designer should meet the following qualifications:

    • Strong educational pedigree from top-tier design colleges (e.g. NIFT, NID)
    • Proven experience of 4+ years in fashion design, including in contemporary women's dresses, co-ords
    • Strong knowledge of handloom fabrics, how to handle them and their design and construction constraints
    • Experience with garment sampling and working with masters to execute flawless samples on your own
    • Demonstrated ability to develop unique patterns and timeless designs
    • Ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and within agreed timelines

    Application process
