    Regional Sales Manager (South India)

    SUMMARY:

    The Regional Sales Manager for South India is responsible for establishing and developing new customers in assigned geographies and markets while maintaining and enhancing existing customer relationships.

    This role requires identifying customer problems or opportunities, understanding how PEI's products can provide a technical solution, and persuasively selling that solution to the customer.

    The salesperson spends 70% of their time traveling and must be organized, disciplined, and self-sufficient to carry out their job responsibilities effectively.

    Ultimately, this individual must deliver budgeted sales for their territory or markets.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • A bachelor's or master's degree from a college or university is preferred.
    • At least 5 years of B2B technical sales experience in inter-connect solutions, specifically connectors and cable assemblies, within a distribution environment.
    • Candidates with less experience but the right attitude, skills, and intrinsic nature will also be considered.
    • Team management experience of at least 1-3 years.
    • Demonstrable consultative selling experience with success in closing deals in various industries such as military, aerospace, space, oil and gas, electric vehicles, and rail mass transit is preferred.

    JOB COMPETENCIES:

    • Self-motivated with a 'can-do' attitude.
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal within and outside the company.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
    • Background in the interconnect industry or distribution is preferred.
    • Facilitating engineering meetings.
    • Presentation skills showcasing PEI's product capabilities.
    • Effective time and territory management for optimal customer coverage.
    • Identifying connector and power programs/opportunities and managing them to a successful result.
    • Basic knowledge of CRM tools for managing contacts, appointments, calls, reports, and opportunities, with full adoption of all applicable processes.
    • Intermediate to advanced PC skills including Excel and Word.
    • Ability to recognize and react quickly to potential problems.

    ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Establish and develop new customers for the company in defined geographic markets or industries.
    • Generate new business by working with customers' purchasing, manufacturing, and quality teams to develop design-in opportunities, address opportunities using PEI products, services, and technical expertise.
    • Prospecting for new customers and re-contacting former customers.
    • Identify key decision-makers, including engineering, procurement, and operations personnel.
    • Collaborate with available resources within PEI, manufacturers' representatives, factory representatives, and other external sources to assist customers and expand knowledge of product capabilities and solutions.
    • Participate in annual budgeting to develop territory budgets for sales dollars, GP percentage, and expenses. Prioritize accounts based on overall PEI dollar potential.
    • Provide timely and updated call reports, account profiles, itineraries, and expense reports, demonstrating professional organization and planning skills through CRM tool adoption.
