Associate Manager HR
FUNCTION:
HR
JOBPURPOSE:
To initiateand sustain HR initiatives and ensure systematic implementation of ER strategyin the factory to leverage human resources for higher people productivity,greater quality and cost consciousness, and harmonious industrial relations.
PRINCIPALRESPONSIBILITIES:
·ER
oSustainpositive relation with employees
oSolicitactive support of employees in launching new initiativesin the area of Employee Welfare
oAddressingDepartmental ER issues (Canteen, Ambulance Room)
oInitiatecost effective measures in the area of Employee Welfare
oAnsweringto specific queries from the employees in the relevant area
oAscertainingthe no. of contract labour required based on optimum utilization
oAllocationof contract labour - jobwise & shiftwise
oNegotiatingwith the user departments regarding requirement of CL
·TIME AND ATTENDANCE MONITORING:
oEnsuring availability of Shift Schedule
oCoordinationwith the Time keepers
oEnsuringcompliance to the working hours / weekly day of rest etc.
·STATUTORY COMPLIANCE
oMeetingthe stat authorities as per the T&RA Matrix
oDevelopan excellent relationship with the authorities
oNotificationto employment exchange regarding the vacancies.
oPreparation& filing of returns within the stipulated timeframe & maintain achecklist for the same
oMonitorthe stat provisions w.r.t. working hours, overtime, weekly holiday,compensatory holiday, leave with wages, rate of overtime wages
oMaintainthe records required under the law in the prescribed formats
oEngagementof apprentices as per quota
oGuide& assist the Enquiry Officer & the Management Representative in courseof any disciplinary proceedings - ensuring that the proceedings are as perlegal framework
oHandleInspections by stat authorities
oEnsureadherence to all stat provisions pertaining to engagement of new contractor
oMonitorworking hours, overtime, spread-over, weekly -off, leave with wages, P.F. &ESI coverage, Payment of wages, Minimum wages of the contract labour engaged
oRegularmonitoring & control of the no. of contract laborers engaged w.r.t. theregistration certificate of the PE
oEnsurethat all the records required to be maintained by the contractor as per theprovisions of the CL (R&A) Act are maintained in the desired manner
·LEGAL
oSharinglegal updates with the other Managers of the unit
oSeekopinion from lawyers on various legal issues
oEnsurerenewal of individual license of the electricians
oTie-upswith nursing homes & hospitals, periodic visit to such nursing homes &hospitals
oEnsuring timely payment of the terminal benefits in case ofseparations
oEnsurethat the medical check-ups as required under the law like eye examination forthe electricians & the FLTOs are conducted at the prescribed frequency& records are maintained in the prescribed format
oAdministrationof the employee welfare amenities provided under the law like Wash Room /Change rooms etc.
·TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
oCoordinating for training programs
oOrganise refresher training programmes for the FLTOs
oEducateManagers, new entrants & vendors about statutory provisions relevant totheir area
·COST MANAGEMENT
oProvidingthe labour cost element during AMC revisions & negotiating with the vendors
oMonitorthe spendings on routine basis wrt HR activities
oPreparemonthly budget variance report
·RECRUITMENT
oContacting Employment exchange / other placement agencies /Institutes for recruitment
oProcessing and shortlisting of applications
oIssuing call letters, organising the written test and interviews
oOrganising the medical test / antecedent verification for theshortlisted candidates
oIssue of final appointment letters
oEnsure the joining formalities
·KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT
oKeeptrack on the IR development in the neighbouring industries
KNOWLEDGEAND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
·Concepts, theories &practices in ER
·Understand employeesphilosophies, their vital issues, shop flooralliances
·Understand history of theplace/ dept/ sensitive issues
·Understanding of various clauses of ContractLabour Act, Rules & case laws
·Knowledge of FSO, domestic enquiry procedures
·Knowledgeof the HR systems and processes and its impact
·Understanding of working hours and thecompliances required
·Ability to update on a continuous basis anyrelevant changes in labour related statutory compliances
·Ability to build relationships with local it is& other such bodies
·Knowledge of recruitment procedures
·Understanding of the logics and indepthunderstanding of the expenses

PREVIOUSEXPERIENCE:
1-2 years experience in amanufacturing unit with unionized work force.
