About the internship:

Key responsibilities:

1. Greeting patients and visitors: Welcoming patients and visitors to the clinic in a friendly and professional manner, and providing directions or guiding them to the appropriate department or office

2. Appointment scheduling: Managing the clinic's schedule, including booking appointments for patients, rescheduling appointments as needed, and handling cancellations, this also involves coordinating with healthcare professionals' schedules

3. Patient registration: Assisting new patients with registration forms and procedures, and updating records for existing patients, this may include collecting personal, medical, and insurance information

4. Answering calls: Handling incoming calls to the clinic, which includes answering patient inquiries, directing calls to appropriate staff members, taking messages, and providing information about the clinic's services

5. Maintaining patient records: Ensuring patient records are up-to-date, accurately maintained, and securely stored, involves using electronic health record (EHR) systems in many clinics

6. Patient communication: Communicating with patients regarding their appointments and treatment plans

7. Maintaining a clean and organized reception area: Ensuring the reception area is tidy, organized, and welcoming for patients and visitors
