We are on the hunt for an experienced Typesetter on a contractual basis for one of our new ventures MyndCanvas.

MyndCanvas is a leading name in the digital storytelling universe, where imagination meets the canvas of reality. We specialize in creating immersive novels & stories that push the boundaries of art and narrative.

Role Overview:

As a Typesetter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the visual aesthetics and readability of our publications. Your primary responsibility will be to meticulously arrange text, images, and illustrations within the layout of our books, adhering to established design standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Typeset the manuscript for a book spanning pages and approximately 50,000 words.
• Integrate about 21 illustrations seamlessly into the text, ensuring proper placement and alignment.
• Implement wrap-around text for illustrations where necessary, maintaining readability and aesthetic coherence.
• Create 3 distinct type settings for the text, including one primary setting and two variations, to provide options for visual differentiation and enhance the reading experience.
• Collaborate closely with editors, designers, and authors to understand and fulfill the artistic vision and content requirements of each project.
• Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established design standards and specifications.
• Meet deadlines and manage workload effectively to deliver high-quality typeset files within designated timelines.

Requirements:

• Experience: Proven experience in typesetting and layout design, preferably within the publishing industry.
• Proficiency: Expertise in typography, typesetting software (e.g., Adobe InDesign), and image manipulation tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop).
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a keen eye for design aesthetics, ensuring high-quality output.
• Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adhere to strict deadlines.
• Communication: Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Flexibility: Adaptability to accommodate project-specific requirements and changes in direction.

Terms of Engagement:

• This will be an office-based role, the office is located in Andheri, Mumbai.
• Working hours per day and working days per week can be mutually discussed and agreed upon during the interview process.
