Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Digital Content Editor & Social Media Manager to oversee the publishing of articles on the website, all platforms on social media, and on the newspaper mobile application.
As a Digital Editor, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a digital content strategy that aligns with the Uttar Karnataka newspaper's overall editorial vision, audience needs, and business goals.
Responsibilities:
Digital Content Strategy:
Developing and implementing a digital content strategy that aligns with the newspaper's overall editorial vision, audience needs, and business goals
Managing the Digital Content Team:
Leading a team of digital content creators, including writers, editors, and designers, to create engaging and relevant content for the newspaper's digital platforms
Content Planning and Publishing:
Planning, producing, and publishing daily content across various digital platforms, including the newspaper's website, social media channels, and mobile application
Social Media Management:
Creating and implementing social media strategies that increase the newspaper's social media following and engagement, including managing social media accounts, tracking metrics, and collaborating with other teams to integrate social media with other digital content
Analytics and Reporting:
Measuring the success of digital content and social media efforts, analyzing data and trends, and creating regular reports to inform decision-making
Digital Asset Management:
Overseeing the management of digital assets, including images, videos, and other multimedia content.
Search Engine
Optimization:
Ensuring that all digital content is optimized for search engines, including creating and implementing keyword strategies, meta descriptions, and other on-page optimization techniques
Mobile Application Management:
Managing the newspaper's mobile application, including overseeing the development, maintenance, and updates of the application
User Experience:
Ensuring that the newspaper's digital platforms provide an excellent user experience, including usability testing, user research, and user-centered design principles
Collaboration:
Working closely with other teams, including the newsroom, advertising, and marketing, to integrate digital content with other areas of the newspaper's operations and maximize the impact of digital content efforts.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in journalism, mass communication, or a related field required experience as a digital editor, content manager, or social media manager in a media outlet, preferably with a focus on Kannada language content.
Demonstrated expertise in digital content creation, social media management, search engine optimisation, and analytics.Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of content creators to achieve the newspaper's digital goals.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan and execute digital content strategies on multiple platforms.Deep understanding of the Kannada language and culture, with a passion for creating content that resonates with the newspaper's audience.
