    REPORTS TO : Plant FSQ Manager

    LOCATION : Nashik, Maharashtra

  • Purpose of the Position:
  • This position provides quality leadership & execution for plant operations by setting the quality strategy, improving quality standards, goals, and objectives. This position will focus mainly on the operations side of quality assurance, Quality Systems, Food Safety and the appropriate food safety systems, Sanitation, and Specifications. The position monitors, partner and advises on how the quality management system performs, publishes data, and reports company performance against set KPI. Also work closely on changes in quality procedures and systems, implements new systems, where necessary, and provides training, tools, and techniques to enable others to achieve quality.

  • Key Responsibilities & Expectations:
  • Lead all aspects of quality, food safety, regulatory and sanitation within the facility.
  • Provide organizational and personal leadership for the plant and FSQ organization to deliver against its core mission and key measurables.
  • Lead and execution through technical mastery in the areas of GM Policy Complaince, SPC, system capability, Initiative management, sanitation, hold control management, food safety & Quality program management and food safety risk mitigation.
  • Provide plant technical support for new products, reformulations, and capital projects.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, sanitation, and engineering to continuously reduce risk within operating plant.
  • Ensure facility compliance with corporate Food Safety & Regulatory policies and standards.
  • Lead & support Regulatory, customer and 3rd party audits
  • Develop and conduct training in the areas of quality systems, SPC, regulatory, and food safety.
  • Collaborate with sales and R&D to address customer complaints and manage product issues.
  • Provide leadership to drive both department and overall plant objectives.
  • Collaborate with Operations, R&D, Engineering, and FSQ teams to ensure product specifications, analytical procedures and sampling programs are appropriate and meet system capability and key consumer requirements.
  • Using quality engineering principles to collect, analyze and interpret in-process and analytical data to make quality evaluations, recommend actions for improvement and assure resolution.
  • Provide risk assessment analysis and manage issues with non-conforming product to ensure proper control, minimize losses, and provide analysis to eliminate future occurrences.
  • Provide early management for new processing and packaging systems and ensure an effective product safety and sanitary design.
  • Ensure the facility meets all FSSC, GMP, HACCP, regulatory, sanitation, and product safety guidelines.
  • Leadership in driving Supplier Quality Assurance program for incoming RM & PM supplies and engaging suppliers for NCR issue with internal (SCM & Operations) & external stake holders (Suppliers)
  • Lead sensory program for the site with R&D coordination & internal stake holders' training / refreshers etc.
  • Lead consumer / customer complaints management by timely engaging cross functional teams for investigation to identify RCA & CAPA and communication to Product Quality Manager (As designed / consumed)
  • Deliver on all core tactical accountabilities of a FSQ Manager: maintain balanced budget, manage lab, address personnel issues, ensure a safe & positive work environment, and manage QRO/Sanitation contractors, run analytical testing.
  • Communication to internal & external stake holders through Management Information system (MIS) weekly & Monthly
  • Key Interfaces
  • Internal: Safety, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance & Operations, XQM, Sourcing, R&D, Regulatory and Global FSQ
  • External: Certification Body, Regulatory / legal bodies, External Labs, Lab Equipment OEM's, Supplier & Vendors etc.

  • Minimum Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related degree (Food Science and Technology, or Food Science, Engineering - Chemical,)
  • 10+ years' work experience
  • Ability to flex work schedule when required to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation. This includes weekend on-call support and early/late work hours.
  • Understanding of product quality, sensory, and food safety
  • Understanding of internal policies/standards, regulatory requirements
  • Strong understanding of Continuous Improvement philosophy and tools
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, ability to apply engineering principles, and ability to troubleshoot.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply the tools of statistics, problem solving and decision making.
