    Job Summary:

    This role reports to the Senior Development Manager for element14 Community, the #1 global community website for electrical engineers. They're responsible for ensuring the adequate testing of all fixes and new functionality on the site, which includes integration with our eCommerce stores, and 3rd party services. The person in this role also creates and maintains scripts to ensure the quality, performance, and usability of all features, for full regression as well as post-release scenarios, as well as creates test plans and coordinates test coverage with other team members for larger releases, including website platform upgrades.

    Principal Responsibilities:

    • Develop, document, and maintain functional test plans, test cases and other test artifacts like test data for all features and releases within deadlines.
    • Execute and evaluate test cases and report test results.
    • Hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with business analysts, and development team.
    • Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.
    • Isolate, replicate, and report defects and verify defect fixes.
    • Identify opportunities for improvements in features through user acceptance testing.
    • Coordinate resources for all releases to ensure a high level of code coverage during pre-release and release night regression testing.
    • Flexibility to work evenings (1 night a month) and some weekends (very rare) to support releases outside of core business hours.
    • Works independently towards long-range goals and objectives. Assignments can be self-initiated using independent judgement and discretion. May act as an informal team lead and/or coach less experienced team members.

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

    • BS degree or comparable work experience
    • Strong experience with quality assurance methodologies, processes, and tools
    • Ability to manage the testing process from initial development to Release Preparation, Regression and Production deployment.
    • Experience with cross browser and cross device testing
    • Strong understanding of test case creation and execution concepts and best practices
    • Strong understanding of web technologies and concepts
    • Integration testing and end-to-end testing experience
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Demonstrable history of learning new technology
    • Strong analytical skills

    Desirable Skills

    • Experience working with Jira
    • Experience working with community platforms (Verint, Jive, etc)
    • Basic JavaScript debugging techniques and tools (browser developer tools/console)
    • Expertise in mobile technologies and responsive design
    • Experience with automated testing tools
    • Experience working within Agile development methodologies
    • Ability to work with distributed teams
    • Work Experience:
    • Typically 5+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.

    Education and Certification(s):

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
