- Performing skilled, complex work in the repair, maintenance, and installation of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and steam distribution equipment and systems.
- Operating a variety of equipment as needed to perform work safely and efficiently.
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing computerized electronic pneumatic devices related to HVAC control systems.
- Operating various measuring and testing instruments to diagnose issues and ensure optimal performance.
- Requisitioning materials from the stockroom and diligently controlling the storage of materials.
- Maintaining electronic/pneumatic testing equipment.
- Calling and working with vendors to arrange service for warranted parts, selecting appropriate replacement parts, and troubleshooting complex problems.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, piping, and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Performing specialized tasks such as brazing, soldering, pipefitting, and welding.
- Maintaining the underground steam distribution system through repair and/or replacement of parts.
- Estimating the time and materials required for work orders.
- Performing preventive maintenance on related equipment as assigned by the Supervisor/Manager.
- Maintaining your work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, following all prescribed regulations.
- Attending all scheduled staff training and safety meetings to stay updated and ensure compliance.
- An ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certificate in a relevant trade.
- Exceptional ability to troubleshoot related systems effectively and independently.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to interact effectively with facility personnel.
- A proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues before they escalate.
- A disciplined and organized work ethic.
- A strong service-attitude, committed to ensuring the continuous operation and comfort of the facility.
