They should have general awareness about major donors within the sector. The candidate should also be excellent in written and verbal communication and should be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

    Description

    The Executive Manager – Strategic Initiatives, will support the identification of bid opportunities by scouting various donors/ client websites, support proposal development process in coordination with technical teams, manage documentation and upkeep of databases in MS-Excel and MS-Word, carry out donor, competitor, and partner analysis, add value to the proposal review and writing process, initiate new areas of business or partnership development independently working with technical teams, and work with emerging area leaders to establish their thematic focus area as a vertical business line within MSC.

    Responsibilities:

  • Scanning/ Scouting of new business opportunities and tenders across various clients/ donors' websites,
  • Comprehending requests for proposals (RFPs), terms of reference (ToRs), expression of interest (EOIs), and coordination with technical teams for end-to-end EOI and proposals,
  • Understanding MSCs past work/projects and where and how these projects are relevant to the RFPs/EOIs,
  • Proactive scouting of donors, strategic partners, consultants, and documentation of these activities; putting effort into nurturing and building these relationships,
  • Preparing compelling capability statements and pitch decks for business development,
  • Analyzing data as it pertains to proposal submissions, win rates, and opportunities and presenting the analysis articulately to senior management,
  • Maintaining and up-dating various databases owned by SI in MS-Word, and MS-Excel, coordinating with Technical Teams for updating databases,
  • Supporting in the preparation of reports (MS-Excel or word), donor scoping, competitor analysis, collateral, and other documents,
  • Coordinating and communicating, both verbal and in writing, with external consultants and associates for existing or prospective opportunities, as and when required,
  • Building MSCs brand presence in certain emerging areas which include directly liaising with emerging area group internal point of contact, organizing, and supporting during meetings,
  • Coordinating with internal teams such as Administration, Knowledge Management, Finance/ Legal as per work requirements,
  • Developing relationships with donors and strategic partners and consistent nurturing of these relationships over time,
  • Supervising and mentoring executives and associate managers to grow their proposal writing and business development skills,
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
  • Requirements

    Qualification and experience:

  • Bachelors/ Master's Degree in English, Business Management or equivalent fields,
  • Minimum five to seven years of experience in work related to business development, tender or procurement management, proposal writing, database management, project management, executive assistance, technical writing, international development in consulting, banking, financial sector, or allied areas,
  • Knowledge of financial services sector and/ or financial inclusion in developing countries/ role of digital in financial inclusion and general awareness about developments and major donors within the sector is desirable,
  • Experience in high level or C-level executive search/ facilitating partnerships/ business development is an added advantage.
  • Desired skills:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word and Excel and google supported databases.
