    Responsibilities

  • Perform complex design analysis using Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) software.
  • Understand customer basic requirements and expectations for new product design and improved designs.
  • Develop alternative design solutions or quick engineering solutions for complex problems.
  • Maintain records of all activities and results in CAE project database.
  • Participate in design review meetings to provide appropriate recommendations.
  • Communicate with team members and customers on all projects related matters.
  • Provide timely design guidance and support to team to meet customer requirements.
  • Assist management in establishing and updating project plans and priorities.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.
  • Responsible for becoming intimately familiar with the makeup and function of metal and plastic fasteners
  • Participate in new/existing product launches via FMEA, DVP&R, 8D Methodology.
  • Capture lessons learned for future usage and drive product improvement activities.
  • Utilize predictive software for weight savings, cost reductions, and engineering improvements based on simulation results.
  • Lead technical team meeting to discuss simulation analysis results.
  • Ensure that all work carried out is in compliance with company design, safety, quality, environmental compliance and procedural standards.
  • Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Masters in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 2+ years of related, on the job experience in detail mechanical design and development or applications development preferred.
  • Understanding of principles of mechanical engineering theory along with general drafting skills.
  • Experience in PDM (PTC/WindChill) systems at user level preferred.
  • 4+ years of FEA and/or moldflow experience/coursework preferred.
  • Ansys Knowledge is mandatory
  • Good technical writing skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good leadership skills.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Experience in automotive industry preferred.
  • Experience with metal and plastic products preferred.
  • Experience with fasteners preferred.
