    The Engineering function oversees all engineering operations within a company to uphold business objectives. This encompasses the creation, development, enhancement, and design of products, equipment, facilities, services, standards, and procedures across various engineering domains. The DevOps segment focuses on integrating software development and IT operations practices to streamline the system delivery lifecycle and furnish a continuous delivery platform. The multi-focus feature is normally assigned to roles that are either fully characterized by their domain or function explanation or span multiple disciplines, products, or areas of expertise. This job category falls under the professional level and involves operating independently with flexibility and autonomy over daily work priorities. Individuals at this job level may offer guidance to other employees but typically lack the authority to sanction or reward them. Different levels within this category offer clarity on expected contributions based on knowledge, application, problem-solving, and collaboration.

    The DevOps Engineer advises internal clients on medium to high-complexity software technology environments. They translate business needs into technological terms and create advanced algorithms and programming code for software solutions. The primary goal of the DevOps Engineer is to devise, test, implement, and maintain software code that enables computer systems to execute specific tasks. They aid in determining how technology can be leveraged to fulfill client requirements.

    The individual in this position will engage in the planning, design, construction, testing, and implementation of assigned enterprise applications and/or systems. They will be tasked with executing the majority of the activities outlined in the planned agile workload or project - gathering information, analyzing client needs, and subsequently designing, building, and supporting solutions that showcase the functionality to meet the identified requirements.

    Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Platform Specialists to receive in-depth business/user requirement specifications outlining the program's objectives
  • Assist in preparing a technical requirements document encompassing systems and flowcharts illustrating how information will flow through the computer and its related equipment
  • Evaluate business demands and ensure that the proposed solution aligns with those needs
  • Translate detailed requirements into a comprehensive systems design document focusing on delivering the required functionality
  • Conduct proof of concept trials when necessary
  • Formulate detailed technical specifications based on their designs for developers or IT Programmers to implement
  • Transform a design into a fully functional information system - acquire and set up the systems environment, create and test databases, prepare test case procedures, develop test files, code, compile, refine programs, conduct test readiness reviews and procurement tasks
  • Document the development process thoroughly, capturing the development procedures for application use and security
  • Supervise program testing before deployment and release
  • Identify any logic or data errors in the program and provide recommendations for corrections or escalate the issue as needed
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to aid in the application's installation and deployment
  • Assist in preparing for and implementing the solution's deployment into a production environment
  • Contribute to resolving any issues uncovered during integration and testing phases
  • Maintain all implemented code sets and deployments in production in accordance with defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for the business
  • Create and distribute task descriptions in a production environment to operate and uphold the designed and implemented solution
  • Support post-implementation process assessments

  • Capable of taking comprehensive views of application environments, covering hardware platforms, applications, databases, operating systems, and storage
  • Adept at working with abstract concepts, displaying strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Possess a deep technical comprehension of development and platform engineering
  • Show excellent client-focused approach with a focus on business outcomes
  • Highly organized and strategic individual
  • Self-motivated and independent in management
  • Strategically define technical direction in the product portfolio, encompassing technical strategies, plans, and execution strategies
  • Effective stakeholder and relationship management skills
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with various stakeholders, including technical teams and clients
  • Show meticulous attention to detail and collaborate effectively within a team setting
  • Thorough understanding of project management principles to ensure proper execution of client projects
  • Constantly contribute to internal efficiency enhancements by improving existing methodologies, processes, and tools

    • Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Typically requires extensive related experience with a Bachelor's or equivalent degree
  • Relevant Certification beneficial
  • Relevant DevOps certifications beneficial
  • Preferable Agile-related certifications

    • Required Experience:

  • Demonstrated years of Software Development and Support experience
  • Demonstrated years of experience deploying software solutions to clients in an outsourced or similar IT environment
  • Demonstrated experience working in a multi-team environment across multiple geographies
  • Programming/development experience including Agile processes such as SCRUM, KANBAN
