    We are part of the Wind Energy & Renewables department, consisting of enthusiastic colleagues working from India, Denmark, Germany, Norway, South Korea, and Taiwan, while collaborating closely with colleagues in the United Kingdom and North America. We have a proven history of making wind energy solutions possible even under the most complex conditions – deep waters, challenging soil conditions, and regions with high seismic activity and typhoons/hurricanes. For offshore wind, we design both floating and bottom-fixed structures. We are part of COWI's International business line, we embrace cultural diversity and highly value our social and friendly environment. Since , we have been involved in more than 1, wind power projects in 70 countries.

    COWI's offshore wind energy business is rapidly growing and that is why we are looking for Offshore Structural Engineers to join our team. In this role, your key responsibilities will be:

  • Designing offshore steel structures/topsides for conceptual and detailed design projects, with a focus on offshore wind in compliance with project specifications.
  • Preparing analytical models, computations, reports, specifications, etc., and ensuring designs are prepared to fulfill the latest health and safety requirements for offshore wind foundation design, from fabrication through to decommissioning.
  • Designing the secondary steel structure, such as internal/external platforms, boat landings, access arrangements, anode cages, and various advanced steel details, while working closely with other engineers and BIM engineers to deliver innovative and efficient designs that meet project requirements.
  • Verifying the design calculations, 3D models, and drawings of other engineers to adhere to COWI QA/QC guidelines. Creating and improving design processes, as well as participating in knowledge transfer.
  • Collaborating with Project Managers, Discipline Leads, and other stakeholders.
  • Implementing sustainability and using parametric designs in projects.
  • Contributing technical expertise in proposals.

    Moreover, you should have:

  • M.tech or PhD in structural/offshore engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience with steel design, offshore wind, offshore oil & gas projects experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of DNV, NORSOK, European, and American design codes and standards.
  • Expertise with structural analysis programs, including Robot, STAAD-Pro, IDEA StatiCa, Abaqus, and Ansys.
  • Sufficient understanding of Tekla, Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM modeling and visualization tools.
  • Experience with internal and external interface coordination.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team of engineers to deliver work packages.
  • Some good-to-have skills:

  • Understanding of local FEM analysis for transition pieces, grouted connections, and joints, etc.
  • An enthusiasm to improve current digital tools and automate design processes. Python skills are advantageous.
  • Good communication skills in English and experience coordinating designs with other disciplines and stakeholders, both in person and remotely
