A Housekeeping Supervisor in a 5-star luxury hotel is a key management role responsible for overseeing and coordinating the housekeeping operations to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort, and aesthetic appeal for guests. This position involves supervising a team of housekeeping staff, implementing cleaning protocols, maintaining inventory, and collaborating with other departments to provide exceptional guest experiences.

Key responsibilities


1) Staff Supervision: Leading and managing a team of housekeeping staff, including training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and ensuring adherence to hotel policies and standards.

2) Cleaning Standards: Ensuring that all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation.

3) Inventory Management: Monitoring and maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities. Coordinating with the purchasing department to ensure a consistent supply of necessary items.

4) Quality Control: Conducting regular inspections of guest rooms and public spaces to ensure that they meet the hotel's cleanliness and presentation standards.

5) Guest Satisfaction: Responding promptly to guest requests, concerns, and complaints related to housekeeping services. Taking appropriate actions to resolve issues and enhance guest satisfaction.

6) Collaboration: Working closely with other departments, such as Front Office and Maintenance, to ensure effective communication and coordination in order to meet guest needs and maintain hotel operations.

7) Training and Development: Providing ongoing training to housekeeping staff on cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and customer service to ensure consistent service quality.

8) Health and Safety: Enforcing health and safety protocols to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for both guests and staff. Adhering to industry regulations and standards.

9) Budget Management: Assisting in budgeting and cost control by optimizing staffing levels, monitoring expenses, and minimizing waste.

10) Reporting: Keeping accurate records and reports related to housekeeping activities, including room occupancy, maintenance requests, and staff performance.

11) Innovation: Identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation in housekeeping operations, such as implementing eco-friendly practices or utilizing new technologies to enhance efficiency.

12) Emergency Response: Being prepared to handle emergencies and crises that might affect housekeeping operations, such as natural disasters or power outages.


To excel in this role, a Housekeeping Supervisor should possess strong leadership and communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to handle stressful situations, and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. Experience in housekeeping within the hospitality industry, particularly in The Franklin 5.Star hotels, is typically required for this position.
