How Does a Crockmeter Works?

- To achieve consistent and reproducible test findings, the crockmeter uses a standard pressure and rubbing motion. Specimens are placed on the crockmeter’s base and secured with the sample holder. A sandpaper pad is provided to place beneath the specimen to prevent it from moving during testing. 

- A hand crank advances a reciprocating arm roughly 100mm. A 16mm diameter acrylic “finger” slides back and forth in a straight line with each complete trun of the crank to generate the rubbing action. The reciprocating load arm is weighted to provide a constant 9N force to the sample at all times, and a mechanical counter records the number of completed cycles.
