US Residential Mortgage Underwriter

Conduct high-quality audits of underwriter loan reviews across FHA, VA, USDA, Freddie Mac, and Fannie Mae portfolios, 
ensuring 100% compliance with investor guidelines.
• Analyze borrower financials (wages, self-employment, rental, benefits) to determine eligibility for loan modifications, 
improving accuracy in credit risk assessments.
• Validate documentation of Underwriters to make sure they used valid documents, correct Calculations, expense, liabilities, 
Credit report, tax returns, other documents and codes for the review. 
• Communicate with the Underwriters to obtain any further documents that are needed on the file to complete the review.
• Validation of Final Summary letter waterfall approval/denial reason, Trial payments and date, borrower credit score, factors,
address, appeal clause, RM information etc before approve or deny the file.
• Manage daily production and attendance reports, assign files, and track team performance to meet SLAs.
• Collaborate with management on Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), contributing 
to strategic process improvements.
• Resolve escalated loan cases by coordinating with underwriters and leadership, reducing turnaround time and improving 
customer satisfaction.
• Train and mentor new hires on underwriting guidelines, income calculations, and quality control procedures, enhancing 
team capability and consistency.
• Facilitate team meetings to discuss complex scenarios (e.g., HMA cases), share best practices, and drive continuous learning.
• Monitor workflow queues, prioritize high-impact files, and ensure timely completion to maintain operational efficiency
