Here Come The Mummies

Funk collective Here Come the Mummies began blending evident instrumental skill with a hefty dose of kitsch upon forming in 2000. The 12 band members dress as mummies while performing and keep their identities a secret, sticking to their stage names and back stories as Egyptian mummies unearthed in an underground disco club thousands of years after their burial. There are rumors that the band members keep their identities secret because they are signed exclusively with various record labels for other projects, and this is a believable story, as the the band possesses a good deal of talent. The Nashville-based group performs across the country with a tongue-in-cheek sense of humor and entertaining live show. Eventseeker
