Is It Possible To Enjoy! Challenges At Work Like The Game You Love To Play?

When I started working over 27+ years back, it was the entry level challenges that I faced like anyone else would have.But what is important here is the fact that, "the" basic challenges for a beginner then and even now remains more or less the same, except that the technology and the mode of operation would have changed phenomenally. Or to be more precise, the basic elements that are essential elements for success for a beginner back then and even now are more or less the same!

So what are some of those "essential" elements?

  • Willingness to learn
  • The ability to remain patient in adversities
  • Eagerness to observe keenly and translate all these into useful results!

(# A beginner needs to enjoy all these challenges to inculcate these aspects in order to adapt them to the unpredictable requirements of the corporate world and then come out successfully....)

You need to learn this game thoroughly at this stage. The desire SHOULD BE to enjoy every moment of such a "thrilling" journey to make it a way of life, So that there is a continuous process of development taking place "within" resulting in generating great output also useful for the organization.(You may also want to check the link at the end for "p-p-c way of thinking"*)

# As one moves up the ladder the requirement also gets added up.

What happens when one moves up to the mid management level?

At this stage what is required is the desire to take care of your team very well and simultaneously work in synchronization with the needs of the top management so that you are able to achieve the goals outlined by them.Not only that, what is more important, is to bring in the benefits of success and share the same with your teammates .I believe the latter part of sharing the success is more important than anything.As a mid-level manager moving up the ladder is more depending on how much faith your team puts on you.

So this calls for great management skills coupled with hard work from your side. At all points of time you should have a vision for your team to take things forward.(You may consider checking the video link given at the end "Qualities Expected From A Senior Level Professional"?)

I believe this could be made as enjoyable as playing a game.

Remember, earlier you have already learnt how to play this game and now it is your opportunity to play well. You should be able to play it like a passionate sports person.

The drive to take your team to play well coupled with your own inner desire to make each one excel in the part of the game they play should be the ultimate aim.

This definitely could be made in a very enjoyable manner like a successful captain leading a winning team.Once you know that you are enjoying the game and in it you will naturally do well and take your team members also with you effortlessly.

What is it like to be on top of the world?

While it is always a bit aloof to be there on top you could still enjoy your life at the top of the pyramid by learning to take life that way.

This is the most difficult task and this is where most people often fails miserably.

Just Imagine...You are empowered and people are willing to listen out of fear factor but if you are able to take them with you as a true leader by showing them the way and also walking with them along the path they will all support you wholeheartedly and like you for what you do for them.Leadership is about making others better as a result of your presence and making sure that impact lasts in your absence.

Once you learn to come out of the glass house and enjoy being with them despite your span of control and authority you will not only make your life much easier but everyone else also would also feel much comfortable being in your company.

I know and agree that it is not easy task to achieve this state of mind in whatever stage one is in.Having worked for over 27+ years in various levels let me add here that it is also important to enjoy what we do so that we live through that to share a story!

And the #best advice? Enjoying  Challenges At Work Like The Game You Love To Play Should Do The Trick for All.
