NO NEED TO BETRAY - by Devesh Bhatt

Have food, clothing, shelter.
Yet life seems tough, but why?
With questions about existence,
Of Things I fail to apply.
Difficulty somehow lies,
In the ambition to blend in.
A yearning for acceptance,
Ignoring what's within.
Distracted by opinion,
I hide my true face.
I am a part of the indifference,
Yet I can't find my place.
When nothing could be stranger,
Than everyone with masks.
Stranger yet is the pretence,
Of motives in worldly tasks.
All driven by the sole intent,
To be hated or loved as others.
Even twins are not the same.
If I were to ask their mothers.
It's best to rid all these masks,
Never needed anyway.
Different from the indifferent,
There is no need to betray.
Hence, I won't make a circle,
Of this spiral of time.
While thoughts make a circle,
Enslaved to a rhyme.
