Novel Jewels Limited is a newly launched business within the Group which aims to create an aspirational national jewellery brand with a strong regional flavour.


India's gems and jewellery market contributes approximately 7% to the GDP and is expected to reach US$ 70 Billion by 2025.

The jewellery industry in India is largely driven by individual family-owned businesses with very few national brands. Novel Jewels Limited, will invest about Rs crore to build a country-wide network of large format exclusive stores.


Position Summary:


The purpose of the role is to conduct research in defining the design philosophy in line with the strategic objectives of the brand.

To Research and identify new opportunities in consumer segment, product categories to create a holistic design strategy.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic alignment with the business vision

  • Assist in defining the overall Design philosophy in accordance with the strategic objectives of the Brand.
  • Support in designing the Product Styling / Language for various categories.
- **Brand Financials and Profits**:
  • Research on avenues to maximize returns through value added services to help achieve set monthly budgets.
  • Define measures to study effectiveness of the strategy and improvise if needed.

- **New Opportunities*
  • Research to identify new growth opportunities, consumer segments, product categories.

- **Design Research**:
  • Conduct holistic research on overall market, competition, consumer sentiments to support the strategy.
  • Research and analyze Global Trends and redraft them to suit Indian context.
  • Analyze the findings of Design Research on annual basis to shape key directions for the year and thereby leading the development of powerful Design Stories for collections.
  • Spot trends and coach team to spot trends. Work with the marketing team to gather consumer insights.
  • Research and develop concepts for bringing newness and freshness, call out key product innovations.

Person Profile:


  • Exposure to all the aspects and functions of jewellery design.
  • Worked in the design research function in an organization of similar size and scale.
  • Should be strong in research and analysis and translating research into strategy.

Education:
Bachelor of Design / degree in design


Minimum Experience Level:

3-8 Years
