Spriggen Gardener Private Limited is a company in the horticulture space, located in Kochi and Hyderabad, and provides various services such as Garden Maintenance, Landscaping, Balcony Gardening, Online Nursery, Events and Corporate Gifting of plants, Miyawaki Forests, and sale of flowers and plants from its Tropical Farm.

The Horticulture Officer will supervise the setup and maintenance of the Spriggen Gardener services with a team of gardeners.

The role holder is responsible for multiple sites and will supervise and interact with clients to ensure that the jobs of contracted revenue streams are operating smoothly.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide professional advice on the selection, ordering, planting, and maintenance of trees, shrubs, ground covers, and turf grasses required at various site
  • Plan and design annual and perennial flower beds
  • Grow potted plants and nursery stock and maintains a record on the operation
  • Prepare orders for various types of plants and seeds as required for projects
  • Supervise and train ground personnel in the techniques of pruning, weeding, wound dressing, cavity repair, and the cabling and bracing of trees and shrubs.
  • Maintain inventories, maps, and labels trees and shrubs on campus for instructional and maintenance purposes
  • Manage the preparation of a maintenance programme for the control of plant diseases, soil health, insects and climatic conditions
  • Ensure irrigation and drainage facilities as appropriately required
  • Create work schedules for gardeners
  • Train and supervise subordinate personnel in greenhouse operations and in the proper methods and techniques of planting plants
  • Confer with Landscape Architect and Project Manager and other personnel in the selection of plants

Education and Experience

  • A graduate degree in horticulture/ agriculture/ gardening from an accredited college or university in an appropriate curriculum.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Thorough knowledge of ornamental horticulture in all phases
  • Thorough knowledge of plant propagation and cultivation
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles of nursery management
  • Knowledge of the principles of supervision
  • Knowledge of the elementary principles of landscaping
  • Ability to supervise the work of others

Salary:
₹240, ₹360,000.00 per year
