Your Role and Responsibilities

As zVM System Programmer, you are responsible to provide technical support with high degree of Customer satisfaction by meeting Service Level Agreements (SLA) and process compliance.

You will perform business impact analysis and risk assessments to reduce the likelihood of significant service outage or disasters.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Manage zVM System Administration Activities
Day to day zVM System Monitoring and Production Support
Perform DASD storage management
Install zVM and zLinux

- zVM Network and VSwitch configuration

Review and maintain system configuration documentation
Troubleshooting of zVM related problem
Handle incidents related to system operation, monitoring and support
Level 2 Ticket resolution.
Liase with PMR team for extended support

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Minimum 5+ years in zVM operations, monitoring
Demonstrable experience in zVM Server Support with health checks
Proven ability to IPL zVM and zLinux guests
Hands on experience in configuring zVM, zLinux, SUSE
Experience with RACF DIRMAINT Security Administration
Expertise on monitoring using ITCAMS, Omegamon, Perf Toolkit
Ability to articulate problem for during incidents
Proven experience in riskbased systems running on zVM, zLinux
Demonstrated experience in handling daytoday zVM operating system administration and breakfix support
Willingness to work in nights shifts or support 24 x 7 Coverage as per the Business needs.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Knowledge of System Z HMC operations
Working knowledge of TCPIP, Network and VSwitch
You love collaborative environments that use agile methodologies to encourage creative design thinking and find innovative ways to develop with cutting edge System Z technologies
Ambitious individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals and with creative approach to work
Intuitive individual with an ability to manage change and proven time management
Proven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Uptodate technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications
