Introduction:
- The purpose of this role is to support all aspects of the cost agenda for the Corporate In-Business Cost team in Chennai and various Finance stakeholders across globe including work that feeds into Group Reporting, Monthly Business Review meetings and Cost Review decks.
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills are required to deliver accurate, timely, well controlled and insightful reporting information to key stakeholders within the business and wider Finance community in Barclays International and across Group.
- The role offers exposure to a range of key initiatives including inyear forecasting and analysis, business planning, and delivery of strategic programmes.
- Finance Business Partner covering Corporate Bank £1bn+ cost base; delivering cost transparency, planning and stress testing, inyear outlooks and monthly reporting
- Partner with the Business to deliver insightful analysis, cost finance support and presentation materials for Senior Stakeholders
- Partner with on and offshore colleagues across functions and departments to identify and resolve issues
- Run Monthend close including Flash consolidation and reporting
- Produce standard actual reporting/analysis
- Contribute to outlook preparation and annual budget planning cycle
- Maintain hierarchy and incorporate all changes as and when required
- Automate manual BAU processes to improve productivity where possible.
What we're looking for:
- CA and/or MBA graduates with strong academic record and 3+ years' experience in Accounting / Finance function.
- Highly organised and with strong attention to detail
- Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Good communicator, both written and verbal
- Control mindset with an ability to develop and embed processes within the team
- Problem solver able to operate in a fast paced, dynamic environment and deliver solutions
- Knowledge of Barclays process flows from an operational and/or financial perspective is a bonus
