Job Title:
Technical Specialist - Backup

Expectations:

Implement backup solutions (Commvault, Backup Exec, Veeam).
Proactively diagnose, troubleshoot, and rootcause breakfix issues.
Train and mentor junior team members.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills in person, in writing, and during conference calls.
Responsible for backup and restoration products documentation.

Backup Experience:

Install, configure, upgrade, administer, and troubleshoot Commvault, Backup Exec, and Veeam.
Experience in taking backups of Cloud workloads (AWS/Azure) such as VM/EC2, RDS, etc.
Configure SAN, iSCSI, NAS, Tape, and Cloud storage devices with backup solutions.

Other Experience:

Understanding of Windows, Unix server operating systems.
Knowledge of Hyper-V, Nutanix, VMware Hypervisor hosts, and cluster architecture for configuring backups and troubleshooting.
Analytical skillset to troubleshoot complex issues.

Main Duties:

Implement, upgrade, troubleshoot, and support multiplatform Backup environments (Oracle, SQL, SAP, NDMP, Hypervisor, Exchange, Cloud
AWS/Azure).
Perform root cause analysis for major issues and provide workarounds to ensure business continuity.
Identify, analyze, and resolve problems in storage, backup, and crossplatform environments.
Complete additional tasks given to meet internal milestones (e.g., training, certifications).
Ensure services are delivered according to agreed SLAs/OLAs, quality, and scope of work.
Update and close tickets, and document handover documents, root cause analysis, and postincident reviews in a timely manner.
Communicate with vendors or 3rd parties to resolve issues related to backup technologies.
Train and oversee tasks executed by junior team members and stand in for them if needed.
Suggest, influence, and implement improvements in the environment (e.g., issue optimization, automation, streamlining processes) to contribute to overall operations delivery and client satisfaction.

Qualifications Requirements:

56 years of work experience in backup platforms (Commvault/Backup Exec/Veeam).
Subject matter expertise in at least one or any two of Commvault/Backup Exec/Veeam.
Experience supporting and troubleshooting medium to largescale, multisite, enterprise storage environments.
Worked on hardware migration of Commvault/Backup Exec/Veeam.
Knowledge of multiple operating systems like Windows, Linux, and UNIX.
Excellent communication skills verbal and written.
