The job description of a waiter typically includes the following duties and responsibilities:

Greeting and Seating Guests: Welcoming guests as they arrive, escorting them to their tables, and providing menus. Waiters may also assist guests with seating arrangements and special requests.

Taking Orders: Taking food and beverage orders from guests, accurately recording them, and entering them into the restaurant's ordering system. Waiters may also provide recommendations, answer questions about the menu, and accommodate special dietary needs or restrictions.

Delivering Food and Drinks: Serving food and beverages to guests in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and presentation according to the restaurant's standards. Waiters may also use tray service to carry multiple items and deliver them efficiently to different tables.

Checking on Guests: Checking back with guests after delivering their orders to ensure satisfaction, address any concerns, and offer additional assistance if needed. Waiters may also refill drinks, clear empty plates, and provide utensils or condiments as requested.

Handling Payments: Presenting bills to guests, processing payments, and handling cash, credit cards, or electronic payments accurately and securely. Waiters may also provide receipts and process transactions through the restaurant's point-of-sale system.
