Description
Care delivery must be uniform throughout the organization irrespective of the wards.

  • To respect patient's values, religion and cultural preferences.
  • Taking of history & examining the patient within an hour of admission and document the plan of care as well as progress notes in the medical record meticulously. Report to the treating consultant about the same.
  • Initial assessment must be filled within 2 hours of admission.
  • Inform the respective consultant about the admission and follow the consultant's instruction.
  • Perform regular clinical rounds to assess patient day to day management and care.
  • Crossconsultation orders have to be followed according to the instructions of primary consultant.
  • Writing medical records including initial assessment, doctors progress notes, drug chart, consent taking, investigation orders, medical reconciliation form etc.
  • Coordinating with staff including other doctors, nonmedical management staff and healthcare professionals, ward staffs to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Ascertains that all discharge summaries are promptly written and kept ready one day prior to discharge of patients.
  • Accompanies the consultants for their daily inpatient rounds, and keep themselves updated on treatment plan.
  • While shifting or receiving the patient from one area to another, transfer out and in notes should be recorded in the progress notes.
  • Ensures that patient complaints are attended immediately.
  • All prescriptions should contain name of medicine, route of administration, dose to be administered and frequency of administration as per primary consultant's orders and it has to be written in capital letters.
  • Only approved abbreviations should be followed.
  • Patient's known drug allergy has to be documented.
  • All entries in the medical record should be documented immediately but no later than 1 hr of completion of assessment /procedure.
  • All entries in the medical records is Named (full name), Signed, Dated and Timed.
  • Discuss with attendants/patients about their conditions atleast once in a day in their understanding language.
  • Check whether the consent for the surgery has been taken from the patient. If not, inform the respective consultant. Inform the anesthetists on duty about the patient. Ensure that all preoperative orders are carried out in case of surgical patients.
  • Instruct the nursing staff about the necessary orders to be carried out.
  • Attends and participates in teaching clinics, lectures.
  • Requested to attend clinical meeting regularly on first Friday of every month and actively participate in case presentations.
  • To be part of training programmes conducted in hospital and to take continuous initiatives for knowledge and skill upgradation.
  • To actively take part in NABH/ Hospital committees, quality improvement programmes, Drills, Clinical and Medical audit.
  • Leaves to be intimated to the HOD.
  • Accepts other responsibilities that the HOD may request from time to time.

Tamil Nadu registration certification is important

Salary:
₹40, ₹50,000.00 per month

Education:


  • Bachelor's (preferred)
