Overall Purpose of The Job
- Ensure continual management, maintenance and administration of the V.Group Safety Management System (V.MS) under the direction of the Group HSSEQ Process Lead by ensuring the V.MS meets the needs to safely and effectively manage V.Group vessels and ensuring the V.MS is kept up to date with all relevant statutory and industry legislation requirements.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
- Promoting A Strong, Pro-Active Safety Culture
- Active engagement with all employees on HSSEQ and V.MS related content, comments and issues
- Participate in and provide input to V.MS reviews and updates
- Assist with development of campaigns and training to drive indepth understanding of the V.MS
Support the Group HSSEQ Process Lead to ensure;
- The V.MS platform is kept up to date with all relevant legislation requirements (statutory and industry) through regular monitoring of legislation changes
- Ensure all V.MS content meets the defined document control requirements
- Support relevant Business Units (BU) in development and maintenance of BU specific V.MS content
- Identify opportunities for development of the V.MS and other HSSEQ systems and programs in conjunction with other key stakeholders
- Deliver initiatives for continual improvement of engagement in V.MS activities
- Identify and support technological innovation of the V.MS and other HSSEQ systems
- Ensuring sufficient, timely, and efficient administrative support the Group HSSEQ function in delivery functional duties and expectations
- Understudy the Group Process HSSEQ Lead to provide resilience in the function, and to develop personal skills and experience for future growth
- Actively partake in shorebased safety meetings to encourage constructive discussion and drive management engagement to enhance the V.MS
- Identify opportunities for growth & development of the V.MS and to ensure capabilities and means of delivery are continually improved
- Assist in the development of relevant training and familiarisation requirements for the V.MS and provide training in V.MS processes to stakeholders
- Where required, assist in specific projects such as;
- Management & Maintenance of relevant ShipSure modules and processes
- Providing functionspecific input to internal development projects
- Support the Group HSSEQ Process Lead and Group HSSEQ department in ensuring relevant quality management processes are consistently applied within the V.MS
- Assist in the development and maintenance of central emergency response storage together with relevant stakeholders
- Ensure timely updates to V.MS following any lessons learned from emergency response activities in the relevant BU
Required Experience
- Essential:
- Strong administrative skills, especially in regard to maintenance of maritime and HSE standards
- Strong experience working with maritime document management systems
- Experience in Maritime environment / Shipping Company
- Experience in engaging and collaborating with multinational / multicultural teams
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
- In depth knowledge of international maritime standards and legislation beneficial including working knowledge of ISM & statutory regulations relating to vessel operations
- Experience working onboard vessels as a Deck Officer
- Strong data analytical skills
- In depth experience in technical document management systems and administrator training
