Are you? The Project Controller has responsibility for the Project controlling of all the services contracts for all India entities.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Project Controller is part of a small in-house Financial Control team which is supported by a shared service center.

At AVEVA the Financial Control function has full ownership for the entity ledgers, accounting, tax, compliance, treasury and reporting.


In this role you will:

  • Provide insightful project financial and commercial analysis to Finance, Delivery and Sales leadership
  • Implement consistent processes and templates for Aveva projects business
  • Help to manage risk and opportunities in the project's business and drive margin improvement
  • Ensure compliance with internal project controls, Global Services policies and IFRS
  • Lead and prepare insightful and valueadding analysis and reporting to stakeholders in a timely manner: analyze trends and deviations in performance, quantified risks and recommend corrective actions to Management. Help to deploy mitigation plans and identify variation order opportunities.
  • Involve in the Major Projects Review session with the Regional and Global delivery team.
  • Monthly and quarterly revenue, cost, margin and cash forecasting by assessing actual costs incurred and physical progress achieved with the phases of the projects.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (such as Project Managers, Finance Business Partner, Commercial teams, PMO, Risk, Credit, FP&A team, Supply Chain team, etc to develop an understanding of the business and the key drivers of performance
  • Preparation, analysis and presentation of the monthend results, communicate issues and prewarning of any major gaps to the financial commitment.
  • Advise on the accrual management for unbilled contract balances, AR provision, and project exchange gain/losses provision when necessary.
  • Support and challenge the project team on new business opportunities and assumption
  • Perform and complete ad hoc analysis of financial results drawing out key drivers and insights
  • Challenge the status quo to identify inadequate business processes and recommend improvements to obtain efficiency
  • Review and drive the outsourcing strategy to build the relationship and support with the overseas team whilst optimizing the value created and delivered to the business
  • Drive consistency, standardization and efficiency amongst common outcomes/objectives across the business and team
  • Work with regional finance and delivery teams to establishes GEET Labour rates on an annual basis and maintains overhead recovery model. Monitors actual and proposes adjustments to GEET rates if necessary.
  • Provide necessary details/documents and give explanations to external and internal auditors
  • Review aging of Project contract assets, contract liabilities and Accounts Receivables to check any unusual balances
  • Ensuring customer Invoicing is raised as per Milestones.
  • Support the project booking, release, closure process in the ERP system.
