Counterparty Risk consists of the Counterparty Risk, Stress and Margining (CRSM), Central Counterparty (CCP) and Commodities groups within Wholesale Credit Risk, which cover OTC Derivatives (cleared and non-cleared), Futures and Options, Securities financing and Securities Prime Services, CCPs and Commodities.

Overall group responsibilities include, but are not limited to, counterparty risk measurement, monitoring (and escalating as appropriate) of those risks/exposures, ad hoc risk investigations and analyses for credit officers, sales and senior management, assessment of CSA terms adequacy, determination of initial margin requirements including corresponding eligible collateral and valuations where applicable, ownership and maintenance of all credit exposure metrics (continuous adequacy assessment), all related exposure calculation/reporting engines and their development agendas and priorities, and Credit Capital & CCAR/ICAAP related exposure & collateral stress testing.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and enhancement of infrastructure & calculated credit exposures/risks for firmwide, regulatory and credit risk initiatives.
  • Responsible to identify, impact assess, raise systemic data quality issues with Risk Chief Data office for resolution.
  • Engage with QR, Technology, Credit Officers, and other stakeholders to continuously review and enhance exposure methodologies and tools.
  • Coordinate requests for Wholesale Risk specific Reference Data, conduct impact analysis prior to technology releases and communicate changes to business stakeholders.
  • In partnership with Model Risk Governance conduct periodic review of Qualitative/Quantitative model and User Tools for Counterparty Credit Risk adequate usage and performance.
  • Evaluate and identify areas of improvement on control functions for derivatives, securities, and F&O products in Credit Risk Infrastructure.
  • Conduct analysis and provide explains of Peak/SRE/Stress exposure results and transaction pricing accuracy.
  • Support stress testing for external regulatory requirement such as CCAR and ICAAP
Minimum Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or related area
  • Analytical skills and indepth knowledge Traded products such as OTC Derivatives, Repo & Sec Lending, F&O and OTC Clearing and fixed income products are required
  • Strong attention to detail, specifically the ability to identify outliers and understand their importance
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to translate technical concepts to a nontechnical audience
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a demanding environment managing multiple tasks at the same time
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership of tasks
