Description

As Atlan's Finance Controller, you shall be broadly responsible for protecting and conserving business resources and accurately reporting on our financial position.

Managing the finance organization efficiently by providing the right information at the right time to support business execution and supporting leadership in advancing the company toward its mission and goals with financial information and analysis.

Financial Management**:

  • Champion financial excellence, establishing metrics, processes, and controls for regular assessment and improvement.
  • Create transparent, efficient, routine, and accessible financial reports for the board, Finance Head, and business leaders that define track, and report progress on financial health and sustainability metrics and also allow leadership to maintain a consistent picture of financial performance.
  • Support reporting and budgets, and budgetary controls.
  • Identifying efficiencies and opportunities for cost reductions across the business

Financial Planning & Analysis**:

  • In collaboration with the Leadership Team, lead a transparent and inclusive annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process

  • Share financial insights and data to help drive internal decisions, improve efficiency, and increase effectiveness across the org

Accounting**:

  • Run the accounting function and are responsible for the company's books and records.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, monthly close, and other general ledger transactions, and payroll and benefits administration.
  • Oversee annual statutory audit, ensuring strong fiscal management and financial controls throughout the year as well as efficient and effective audit preparations.
  • Establish, communicate, and manage strong financial controls and ensure accounting policies and procedures are well documented.
  • Oversee banking functions, including managing cash flow.

Compliance**:

  • Oversee compliance function and regulatory compliance
  • Take ownership of the internal processes of generating accurate and timely financial statements (including consolidation) in GAAP and IFRS compliance
  • Handling payroll processing and labor tax compliance.

Operations**:

  • Oversee procurement, facilities management, insurance, vendor administration, scheduling, equipment, travel, and administrative support functions.
  • Setting up bank accounts and managing banking relationships.

Team Leadership**:

  • Build and support a worldclass organization; lead, develop, and retain a team of professionals that can achieve goals aligned with our strategic priorities.
  • Coach, manage and oversee the team in core functions, including business planning, procurement practices, contract negotiation, accounting, and reporting. Oversee monthly and quarterly reporting processes culminating in a clean annual audit.
  • Incorporate an exceptional customer service orientation, mission mindset and spirit of excellence into all aspects of financial operations.

What Makes You a Match:


  • 5 to 7 years of fulltime experience in a Financial Controller or similar role managing the finances at a fastpaced organization.
  • 5 to 7 years of combined experience in accounting and finance,
  • Advanced degree in Accounting
  • CA preferred.
  • Proven track record of being an operationallyoriented leader with exceptional communications skills and an analytical, intellectuallycurious mindset.
  • Attention to Details with strong documentation skills, strong regulatory reading and interpretation skills, solid Project Management skills, and ability to communicate complex rules in lucid terms.
  • Experience translating complex financial information into accessible and transparent reporting across the organization to drive decisionmaking and resource choices.
  • Strong team player with excellent customer service orientation; ability to communicate, influence and build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups with selfconfidence.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and tax compliance considerations for nonprofits.
  • Record of results managing both the big picture and the details of financial performance.
