Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Organic Farming Teacher to join our team and deliver engaging and informative organic farming education to individuals interested in sustainable agriculture.

As an Organic Farming Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in empowering students to understand and implement organic farming practices, fostering a deeper connection with the land and promoting environmentally friendly agricultural methods.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver comprehensive organic farming curricula that cater to individuals with varying levels of experience, from beginners to experienced farmers.
Conduct inperson and online instructional sessions that cover topics such as soil health, composting, crop rotation, pest management, biodiversity, and sustainable farming techniques.
Provide handson training in cultivating organic crops, tending to livestock, and maintaining a holistic farm ecosystem.
Teach the importance of regenerative agricultural practices, highlighting the benefits of organic farming for soil fertility, biodiversity, and overall ecosystem health.
Guide students in designing and planning organic farms, considering factors like crop selection, layout, irrigation, and seasonality.
Incorporate practical demonstrations, field trips, and experiential learning to enhance students' understanding of organic farming principles.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment where students can share experiences, ask questions, and engage in discussions about organic farming challenges and solutions.
Assist students in developing business plans for organic farming enterprises, including marketing, distribution, and sustainable business practices.
Stay updated with the latest developments in organic farming techniques, sustainable agriculture, and agroecology to ensure training content is current and relevant.
Collaborate with other instructors and experts in related fields to offer interdisciplinary perspectives on sustainable agriculture.

Qualifications:

Demonstrated expertise and practical experience in organic farming and sustainable agriculture practices.
Strong understanding of soil health, composting, pest management, crop rotation, and other essential organic farming techniques.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex agricultural concepts and methods to diverse audiences.
Prior teaching or training experience is a plus, especially in an experiential or handson learning environment.
Enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and inspiring others to embrace organic farming for its environmental and health benefits.
Ability to create inclusive and participatory learning experiences that accommodate various learning styles and backgrounds.
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and capable of performing physical tasks related to farming.
Strong organizational skills to develop curricula, lesson plans, and teaching materials.
Passion for sustainable agriculture, environmental stewardship, and promoting a deeper connection between people and the land.
