The West India Local Large Corporates (WI LLC) team within Global Banking India, manages client relationships that include India's largest conglomerates and business houses which have a global presence and business interests across various sectors - Auto, Steel, IT, Cement, Chemicals, Telecom, Retail, Pharma etc.

These groups have complex business requirements across products and geographies, and fairly demanding in their expectations from banking partners.


Global Relationship Banker (GRB)/ Relationship Manager to independently manage key Large Local Corporate relationships to originate new business as also maintain and grow the existing franchise through best in class execution.

The position is based out of Mumbai.


Principal Responsibilities

  • To support the senior GRBs/RMs in developing and managing the client relationships. This would include maintenance and penetration for existing clients and new client acquisition and business development efforts.
  • To provide backup to the GRBs/ RMs in their absence such that all client facing activities can be managed seamlessly
  • To provide support to clients for daytoday transaction management
  • To work with the GRBs/RMs and Product teams towards formulating and delivering client strategy
  • To gain an independent understanding of the client business and financial profiles to be able to prepare and present business proposals to internal approval committes locally and overseas.
  • To support the GRB/ RM to scope out business opportunities with clients across the HSBC International network and work closely with the client RMs in overseas locations to help with client dialogue/ internal approvals.
  • To monitor related MISes and ensure that the portfolio remains disciplined and clients compliant in matters of documentation, covenant compliance, other credit exceptions, daily excess management and sanctions compliance.
  • To ensure timely issuance, execution and perfection of client documentation
  • To be updated with respect to RBI and other relevant regulations and ensure that the clients and our interactions with them are in compliance with the existing regulatory guidelines.
  • To support product / process / system rollouts related to any regulatory changes introduced by the regulators from time to time
  • To Build the Global Banking franchise value and reputation by ensuring that all responsibilties are executed flawlessly and HSBC promise delivered to the client in a timely, professional and cost efficient manner
Requirements

Education background in Finance preferred. A post graduate degree/ diploma is a pre-requisite.

A 3-5 year work experience in client facing role preferred.


Requirements:


  • Selfdriven individual with ability to multitask and manage time exceedingly well
  • High levels of integrity in client dealing
  • Robust knowledge / strong inclination to learn bank systems, processes, key local regulations, product offering of HSBC, documentation
  • Primary understanding of credit risk
  • Good communication and networking skills
  • Good Analytical and reasoning skills
