Location: Mumbai

Job Summary:

As a Commis 2, you will contribute to the culinary team's success by assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes that meet the highest quality and presentation standards.

Under the guidance of senior chefs, you will actively participate in various kitchen activities, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Prepare and handle ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning, according to recipes and established standards.
  • Execute cooking techniques such as sautéing, grilling, frying, baking, and boiling under the direction of senior chefs.
  • Monitor food during cooking to ensure proper cooking times and temperatures.
  • Assist in the creation and assembly of dishes, ensuring they meet visual and taste expectations.
  • Support the plating and presentation of dishes, paying attention to aesthetics and portion control.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including equipment, utensils, and workstations.
  • Assist in the receiving, storing, and rotation of food supplies to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper storage and handling of ingredients.
  • Collaborate with fellow kitchen staff to maintain a smooth flow of orders and timely service.
  • Participate in training sessions and culinary development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and uniform standards.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory records and reporting shortages or discrepancies to senior chefs.
  • Take direction from senior kitchen staff and support their culinary initiatives.

Qualifications and Requirements:


  • Previous experience as a Commis 2 or relevant culinary role is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of culinary techniques, food preparation, and cooking methods.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and work under pressure in a fastpaced environment.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
  • Effective communication skills and a cooperative attitude within a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing kitchen requirements.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary education is a plus.
  • Food handler's certification may be required based on local regulations.
