Job Description:


Wood Mackenzie's long history in the energy sector is underpinned by our deep understanding and modelling of fiscal regimes around the world.

The coverage and quality of our fiscal models and valuations allow us to provide unique insight to research and consulting clients, industry, and Governments.


As part of a world-class team of industry experts, you will develop a deep understanding of fiscal terms and their impact on valuations and investment decisions.

You will create and update fiscal models covering multiple countries, commodities, and technologies.

While upstream oil and gas still is still a core part of our work, you will play an important role in the expansion of our fiscal and valuation capabilities across solar, wind, hydrogen and CCUS.


To ensure the quality and accuracy of our models, you will develop a network of internal and external contacts to help source and validate fiscal data and assumptions.


Main Responsibilities

  • Build, update and audit fiscal models across multiple countries and commodities
  • Monitor fiscal terms and developments to ensure any changes are accurately reflected in our models
  • Create and update countrylevel fiscal summary documents to provide clients with a clear description of the terms applied in our models
  • Assist with the creation of external fiscal products and internal tools
  • Analyse the impact of fiscal changes and contribute to wider Wood Mackenzie written reports and consulting projects
  • Support client queries concerning our fiscal models and valuations

Qualifications:


  • You have strong numerical modelling skills, ideally developed through prior experience working with commercial data
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and a relevant numerical degree are required
  • You demonstrate the ability to proactively monitor, gather and interpret information required to understand, create, and test commercial models
  • You enjoy working in a collaborative, productive, agile, and clientcentric environment
  • Investing in your own development is important to you, and you will actively leverage your colleagues, training resources and on the job learning experience to achieve this
  • You are focused on continuous improvement and will be proactive in helping the wider team identify new and better ways of working
  • Relevant qualifications or prior experience in the energy sector is desirable but not essential
