Your Role and Responsibilities

As z/OS System Programmer, you are responsible to provide technical support with high degree of Customer satisfaction by meeting Service Level Agreements (SLA) and process compliance.

You will perform business impact analysis and risk assessments to reduce the likelihood of significant service outage or disasters.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Manage z/OS System Administration Activities
  • Day to day z/OS System Monitoring and Production Support
  • Perform DASD Space management
  • RACF Security Administration
  • Install z/OS and related products on z/OS
  • Maintain HCD configuration
- z/OS Cloning

  • Execute changes to z/OS, DB2, CICS, RACF, TWS and MQ
  • Review and maintain system configuration documentation
  • Troubleshooting of z/OS related problem
  • Handle incidents related to system operation, monitoring and support
  • Level 2 and 3 Ticket resolution.
  • Liase with PMR team for extended support.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Minimum 8+ years in z/OS operations, monitoring, SMPE experience
  • Lead z/OS system design discussions, plan, implement, IPL new z/OS LPAR
  • Provide insights on z/OS performance with RMF, Omegamon and CP3K tools
  • Demonstrable experience in z/OS Server Support with health checks
  • Experience in z/OS, CICS, DB2, MQ and other subsystem installation via SMP/E
  • Working knowledge of Workload Scheduler (TWS)
  • Deep understanding of VSAM, IAM, ZFS, HFS, Unix System Services
  • Understanding of critical z/OS components like JES2, RACF, OMVS, Encryption
  • Experience in handling z/OS upgrades and migration
  • Ability to articulate standard z/OS best practices methodologies during implementation
  • Proven experience in riskbased systems running on z/OS, CICS, DB2, MQ
  • Knowledge of Network technologies SNA, VTAM and TCPIP
  • Experience with HCD, IODF, parallel sysplex, storage configurations and replication
  • Demonstrated experience in handling daytoday z/OS operating system administration and breakfix support
  • Willingness to work in nights shifts or support 24 x 7 Coverage as per the Business needs

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Planning for DR, Continuity of Business or Resiliency exercises
  • Ability to provide inputs on availability, reliability and serviceability
  • Enthusiasm to work on technologies like encryption, ZOSMF
  • You love collaborative environments that use agile methodologies to encourage creative design thinking and find innovative ways to develop with cutting edge System Z technologies
  • Ambitious individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals and with creative approach to work
  • Intuitive individual with an ability to manage change and proven time management
  • Proven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Uptodate technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications
